why does it say "options" and not "email"?

That's something I was debating what to call it and I guess I just sort of forgot about it.
I can label it email either way, but do you want it to actually save email addresses? Right now it doesn't.

Allowing people to link to sites or embed a video / song (in lieu of a new image attachment, in threads which permit image replies) would be neat.

So the 8chan way? Or like 4chan where it adds an [Embed] button next to links from certain sites? Personally I think I'd prefer the later.

Did you make this software yourself?

Yeah, using python.
Maybe I should put it in the FAQ somewhere, but I just made the site for fun more or less, and was curious at the time if you could make something that would be stable without mods.
So it was basically just a personal testing site, and I linked to it on 8/jp/ just to see if I could get some feedback or fresh ideas. It was when 8ch wasn't working right and everyone needed a bunker so I thought we could help each other out.

I haven't been pushing for people to come here or advertising because I'm still wondering if the features we have are good enough. It's hard to know, or to get help, because most people don't like to just think about "imageboard theory" I guess.
Right now I'm still wondering if I should add the first idea from here >>/meta/13/ or not (where boards are only updated at certain intervals). Although everyone seemed to think it sounds interesting.

8jp has a new board owner.
I think it'd be really nice if we could all move here next time it screws up for real.
It's really sad, but interesting to think that a small, elitist community could just dissipate at any time in the blink of an eye. What would we have done if we couldn't get back?

But that's what I love to do!

Is the source code for this board available anywhere?
Will it ever be?

I thought tabatan said he would at some point.

Admin here. If you want it I can email it to you. I still just don't feel like uploading it to anything like github yet. There's still some bugs and I think the code should be cleaned up quite a bit first before doing that.

I rather like this board script and would like to see if there's anything I could contribute, that's why I'm asking.
I'd suggest uploading the source to a git host of sorts, people interested in helping development could then debug and clean the code up themselves. It'd lift some burden off your shoulders in a way. Though, that's your choice.

I've left my email address in any case.

Like ESR always used to say: release early and release often.

Why HTML instead of XHTML?
