>position: fixed;
Who was the idiot fuck what thought this would be a good idea? Not everyone is an adhd ridden kid that can't be bothered to go up to see the bar. What a waste of vertical space.

Exactly. position:sticky as well.

The entire thing is a fucking travesty.

I know, but that gets rid of everything altogether. Isn't there a way to just replace all those position instances with something else?

Something I find similarly annoying are menus that pop up when you mouse over them, and they always seem to be right along a path you naturally move your mouse over. I always love it when the menu lags on popping up so you click a link only to realize it actually registered the click on the menu instead.

Why do people prefer to put up with crap like that as long as it "looks nice" rather than just have a simple interface that's a bit less flashy but gets in their way less?

The 'show more' button is the worst, as you will end up with a kilometer long page. What happened to pages? Aren't they convenient enough?

Also god forbid you accidentally just click the video instead of opening it in a new tab. Have fun sitting through a solid minute of waiting the fucking thing to load when you're trying to find the video you wanted to watch next.

Also, fuck autoplay. Fuck having highest volume on by default, with autoplay. Fuck loading the next page with javascript, can't you just have the motherfucking link there?
Everything with youtube nowadays is SHIT.
Youtube is no longer necessary, though, with native webm playing ability in browser (still shit that shouldn't be there, but now that you don't need to download and then play shit then why not use it?)

I'm pretty sure that "Youtube+" greasemonkey extension fixes these things.
I'm not sure how much longer it's going to keep working, though.

Yes it does. Youtube is practically unusable for me without it.

giant headers in general are a turnoff

not everyone is rich enough for a portrait-mode screen
