The new decade is right around the corner. Let's reminiscence about that which was and speculate about that which will be.

The 2010s were a strange time for me, I enjoyed the trends of 2D. I think the 2010s have the best looking anime by far, especially as far as character design goes. I understand that some people find this sterile. I don't really know much else about the 2010s other than large movements for social change that ultimately didn't affect much. Everything feels a lot more generic and less "wholesome" (?) is how I tend to view it. But that's just my opinion. I'm sure people will look back fondly on the 2010s one day.
What I think must be noted however is that decades don't end culturally as soon as the calendar decade does, nor does it start. For example, a lot of people feel that the 2010s didn't really start until like 2013 or 2012 and the 90s didn't end until 2004.
I have no idea of the trends that will crop up during the 2020s, other than everyone who's on websites other than big social media seems to have this wistful longing for the 2000s so maybe there will be a large scale revival for that kind of internet climate, but considering how jaded everyone is, I sincerely doubt it will happen.
