I used the be bewildered by folks who would buy ball joint dolls. It was outside of my realm of experience, and seemed super niche even by the standards I was used to. I never got to the point where I would actively mock them, but it was an oddity to me.
Then on a whim, I bought a large, yet cheap doll. I think I get it now. It made me feel less lonely and a bit more positive, even if by a little bit.
Now I'm a bit more curious about proper ball joint types. Not so much as to binge on them, I only have so much money and space, but when I have the capacity to buy another doll, it'd be neat to have one with more articulation.
