I pray to Dadikūru that it's just maintenance issues. If /azu/ outlives 4-ch I will genocide all the homeless people living under the bridge near my apartment

I can't believe it. 2020 can't get any worse.

4-ch was mostly just https://youtu.be/5pa6SGYWADU by the time it died, and had been for years. I'm sad to see it go, but at the same time it really wasn't as if there was any real discussion going on there anymore.

From the IRC:
<bps2> hard disk issues are stopping me from bringing it back up, but I don't expect a cataclysmic loss of data
<bps2> but expect some downtime

Everything should be fine, just wait a little. Hopefully nothing old is lost, but there are enough archives of everything that it shouldn't be an issue.

DQN was active and great, don't insult it.

all I remember was viper shitposting

DQN was indeed great, but it's not like 4taba was the only site that had that sort of culture.

/azu/ died once wakachan went offline a few years ago. What little traffic the new domain gets is from 12 y/o shitposters.
Anonymous 2020-09-20T22:44:26
12 is just a random number, but it's clear that the original userbase no longer exists. Uboachan had a similar fate, people vanished once there wasn't anything left to discuss and the only people who are left are the ones who just discovered it.

Really?

Nobiko died so 4-ch could live

I didn't realize it was still up.

I expect 4-ch to be more active since we could've lost it, but only for a couple months. DQN is always active but the other boards are bare bones and some of the top threads are from 2013-15. The only active boards besides DQN are the internet ones because 16 year olds need a place to say "I wish I was in the 90s" despite the fact they guaranteed couldn't stand using an oldschool BBS you had to dial the numbers to and then wait for hours only for your mom has to make a phone call and fuck it all up

They never experienced dial-up.

Where are you seeing 90s nostalgia on 4-ch? There's some 00s melancholia on the internet boards since the whole place is one of the few remaining ones on the internet where you can freely talk to ghosts from a bygone era.

disregard this I made a blunder, I mixed up 4-ch with another textboard it seems

Use subposts to sage.
Anonymous 2020-09-24T02:45:18
I swear I saged this post but it's not showing that

4-ch's issue is that it spreads itself too thin. It has 27 boards, which is way too many for a small-ish textboard without an overboard

It's a relic of a different time. Inertia alone guarantees there'll be no change or consolidation. bps doesn't delete spam, and the last new thing was 5 years ago when the now defunct image board was added.
