Gokigenyo 4Taba mk.III'm here to draw maids doing maid things, with an eye to simplicity and lowliness. I don't draw fancy maids with frills bows , but hardworking blue collar girls. I find that sort of thing to be cute in a relatable way, and I like infusing my work with a friendly, approachable vibe. I hope this is communicated in the works I'll be posting in this thread.Be sure to take off your shoes and keep the floor clean, fair guests!
It's good to see that, in these times of chaos, some things don't change
cute meido
Is she going to be the official 4taba2 meido?
Can you draw a maid fixing a rubik's cube?
キタ━━━(゚∀゚)━━━!!
>>2I do intend to branch out to other subject, but I'll be keeping this up. I think the maids are a pleasant place to experiment and do some training with cartoon figures. I guess this is evident since I don't have a consistent coloring method for these drawing yet.>>4Originally I just wanted to draw maids on whim without getting attached to any one, but I've been playing around with having some mainstays which I put more effort in to and draw more often. Pic related, though it is not finished. Who knows, I may play around with OP more in time.>>3I'll note it down and keep that in mind.
Cute.. like your style of drawing.
I need a maid.
do your own laundry
Maybe if you were good at your job, you could afford one?
what job
qt maids
>>18Thanks!
>>20You're back! Mind spilling the secret of how you started out learning?
>>21Unfortunately there was no secret for me, I just started young. I honestly can't pin point one major thing I did that tied my skills together, I just adopted methods and ideas as I went along. I'm still learning and studying the craft, I'm not skilled enough to teach anyone yet.
always nice to see maids
>>23 Big shoe mode.Nice, you're still at it. Have you ever thought of drawing a maid robot? Just throwing the idea out there.
>>25I'll be mixing things up in time.
Cute bunny!
Oh, you're still at it!
>>28I don't give up, I just take long breaks. As well, I've been drawing traditionally for studying purposes more often, which isn't quite the theme here.
Glad to see you're still drawing maids and posting! What if.. what if you draw a cube maid?
Will we ever see a cube maid?
>>31Yes!
>>32Amazing, what a cute cube!
>>34Nice, but we will need a few more hands to clean up my room.
>>35We'll send some more in due time.
>>36Can I get a Maid bride for marriage?
>>37The girls aren't paid to do that kind of work.
Scary maid!
>>34Finished this one up.
>>39Looks good! What program to you use to draw?
>>40I use MyPaint more often than not.I have Krita, GIMP, and other art program, but MyPaint is where I feel most comfortable, even if it isn't feature rich.
>>41Have you tried the Japanese stuff like Sai and uhh.. Clipartstudio or whatever that was called? I have a tablet that I'm using for 3D stuff, but I'd like to start messing around with casual no-skill drawing and I wonder what's easiest for that. I'm fine with pirating stuff, so money isn't really a problem. Maybe I should see if there's any cool interactions between software like there is for 3D stuff (I.E you can have a button in Program A that will immediately open the file in Program B)
I saw this posted elsewhere and thought it looked like your style.
>>42I haven't used Sai or CSP, though I am interested in the former. I've gotten comfortable with FOSS drawing solutions already, as well as daily driving Linux for a long time now. Personally I'd just play around with either or and see what feels better to me, but I hear good things about both of those programs. >>43Yes, that is. I've been doodling that character for a thread on 4/i/ and found myself enjoying it. They seem to be spreading out a bit, but I hope they aren't being used to annoy people. I'm surprised to see that one as a jpg, since I usually post these as png files.
>>44I think they got it from Nitter. I too like this character and wish to see more.
I've been drawing the character a lot, so there's definitely a bunch of stuff to draw from. I can make a more general drawing thread for more than one subject in the future if you guys would like.
>>46I would like to see your other work.
>>48That hugging picture is way too cute!!
I miss the maids.
bump
No more maids.
>>52 They were a poster on /ic/ a few years ago, but not where if they still are or where they would be now. Such is the passage of time...
>>53You'd be surprised. I lurk about as a ghost.I unfortunately have long stretches where I seemingly disappear off the net, but I always keep places like this bookmarked.
The 4taba revitalisation project is bearing fruit...
>>54 Cool! It's good to see you again. Also, wow, I just realized I completely mangled my post! I couldn't make a less coherent sentence if I tried. I think the last time I saw you was in IRC a couple years ago, so it's good to see you're still around! Hooray!
