Does anyone here play Dwarf Fortress? I've been learning recently and I've been really enjoying it, please share stories if you have them!
I used to, but I usually can't, since it's closed-source.
>>1I'd love to, but I can't really get into it.
I used to, but now everything's different and I've forgotten how to play, and I don't have the willpower to learn again.
I once ventured forth as a Grizzly Bear man set on honing my skills and becoming a horrific beast capable of tearing enemies limb from limb. One instance of adventuring I was set upon by some would be ambushers. I swiftly dispatched once, sending the others running. Chasing one down, I tore his arm from his shoulder with my brutish grizzly strength and ripped his throat into a bloody pulp. I pocketed the gruesome remains and hunted down the final ambusher who had since fled from the brutal wreckage of his commrades. I pelted him with serious bady parts from his friends until I caught him and you can guess how that turned out.Another moment I was wandering the countrysides looking for beasts to slay to improve my reputation. I happened upon the cave of a cyclops and ventured inside. In the ensuing battle my arm was punched off at the shoulder and my brave maceman companion met his end. I made a point to tell the tale of his death and death of the cyclops in ever tavern I visited afterwards.

I use a mod that lets you play humans and build wooden villages by the sea.though, enabling you to play humans is all it does, doing that is a bit time consuming when you have to make your longhouses out of whole logs.
*resource consuming, I should say
I tried to but I didn't understand shit at first and I didn't feel like spending too much time wrapping my head around its gameplay. I wish I heard about it sooner though because it seems nice nonetheless.

I'd love to see a game like Dwarf Fortress with another mythical creature as the main focus, maybe something like Minotaur Maze.
haven't in a long time but i'm generally into that style of weird high detail autism magnet game. play a lot of spacestation 13 lately for example.
>>12I wish there was a singleplayer SS13...
>>13I wish there was a small but consistently active ss13 RP server with no set lore/rules/rigid no fun allowed shit other than playing along and not being a shit as a player, like there was when I was younger. That was great.
>>14/tg/station sybil or terry work alright.
/tg/station isn't RP, its ludic shitposting with occasional fluffunless sybil is something else.
