 | For me its actually the opposite. I can understand the need to get worked up over stuff, but I have never understood the need to get involved in _people_ if you know what I mean. Hell, I'm even a NEET for several years now, the only thing I do all day every day is sit at my computer, and I still can't get involved with anything.
For example, youtube is something I've used since forever and I'm subscribed to 0 channels and you could probably count on 1 hand the number of times I've ever liked/disliked a video. There are topics I regularly search for, but even since I was a kid I just never understood the purpose of subscribing to a channel. I guess if you recognize that someone is regularly putting out good content, but I never payed attention to who was the creator of anything enough to ever notice a pattern and I never cared enough to really click on channel names and see what else they've uploaded.
I also think it's why I absolutely cannot into social media. I've tried pretty hard actually to get into the various popular platforms but I usually just sit there like >so where are the actual discussions taking place? It's almost embarrassing how long it took me (or how much research) to realize there really just aren't any, and I'm just supposed to find _people_ I like and then follow their random thoughts without any sort of topical organization. It was like some major epiphany when it finally dawned on me, and I don't understand how its just intuitive to so many people.
It's cool that you got to experience letting it all go though. I wonder if that's one reason I enjoyed KF threads more than the usual /a/ threads. Maybe it attracted/encouraged more people to just not give a fuck and enjoy something for what it is. Every once in a while there's an anime like that.
