I'm pretty sure that, at least for me, this is because I have grown up mostly with shows that came from those eras, so there's this sort of "feeling at home" sensation which massively ups the quality of whatever I'm watching. I just really dislike most things modern; digital animation, current artstyles, you name it. Not because it's necessarily bad in general, but because I'm so drawn to what I have seen and experienced in my childhood, the things that essentially shaped and ultimately make up what is now my taste.
I don't want to unnecessarily expand on my personal philosophics, but I believe this to be completely natural and unrelated to depression or frustration, at least regarding the origins of said feelings. I mean this as a word of comfort, of course. Good to hear you were able to find something you like. |
