Are yall still following seasonal anime? I wanted to get into it again last fall but I never got around doing it for real

pic unrelated, not from this season. I think this was one of the anime I watched last when I stopped watching.

I only follow the few shows that really interest me. Most anime bores me at this point.

Yeah it's similar for me. At the beginning of a season I pick about 3 or so that look interesting and go with it..

I watch almost everything. I still like anime, ever if I have seen over a thousand of them.

I check what's coming out but don't feel like I have to pick something. So I don't really give anything a try unless I already think it's something I'll like.

I watch usually around three a season, I am watching Pandora, Grimgar and Gintama right now. There just isn't much that interests me now. I also am thinking of just letting all the episodes air and watching it then, I don't really like watching things in twenty minute doses, by the time I get in to it it's already over it's just too short.

I'm just listing out the current anime titles into my 2016 backlog, I'll watch it when I feel ready to watch.

Watch shorts. Sekkou Boys, Galko-chan and Niji-iro Days are all great.

I've really been enjoying the short-form comedy anime this season. I think it's a really winning format for this kind of thing.
I was watching for a little while Dagashi Kashi, but I feel it might work better as a short series rather than a full TV-half-hour show. It kind of drags on a bit, and cute girls just aren't enough to hold my interest for that long.

Nah. I feel like anime's going down the shitter.

It all feels so fake now. Japanese voice acting is just as grotesque and over-exaggerated as a shitty western dub, characters make retarded expressions that look like they're making funny faces in a mirror, the fanservice is becoming more and more unsubtle and tasteless, and the characters and stories get more archetypical and derivative each year. It doesn't help that there's this very masturbatory, self referential feel to most modern anime, which I blame Kyoto Animation for

I know what you mean. But, it is mass-media, so what do you expect? Most games are shit, most movies are shit.
Theres still good new shows, right? I only watch very few shows or films animated and japanese or otherwise, but shoujo shuumatsu is nice. I doubt Id ever have enjoyed following the seasonal releases though.

I haven't kept up with seasonal stuff since last year. I simply haven't found anything interesting that I might enjoy. Now that I think about it, I haven't watched any anime in like 11 months.

Just scroll through the list of stuff that's airing and download stuff that sounds and looks interesting.
If you can't find at least one or two that keep you watching, then the problem is you not the anime.

I've been doing it less and less, but that's because I'm really bad at keeping up with seasonal shows, not because I lack interest or anything.
Right now I might pick up some, though. Asobi Asobase, Planet With, High Score Girl, maybe a few others.

I don't really deliberately look for something to watch, that is unless I am extremely bored. And even then I don't necessarily look for what's currently airing, but instead just google some of the genres I like and then see if there's anything visually appealing to me with an interesting story to go with it. I put 'visually appealing' first because I just know it's no use for me to look into anything even remotely KyoAni-looking, that just isn't my cup of tea.

At the moment I'm watching Tonegawa, which at first I didn't like because it lacked everything I loved in Kaiji, but that show really has grown on me. Definitely recommend that one. I'm also watching the third season of Shingeki No Kyojin.
The other ones aren't from this season.

I have been trying really hard to get into seasonal stuff for the past 2 years, but I just haven't found anything the clicks—end up dropping them after like 2 episodes. Could just be depression dunno, because I lost interest in a lot of my favorite pastimes.
But I have found that old shows from the early to mid 2000's really fill in that void. Really enjoyed this somewhat obscure one called Kachou Ouji. Been having fun with romcoms as well, currently it's Lovely Complex.

It's very similar for me in that current stuff rarely does it for me anymore, but I very much enjoy watching things from the late 80s to mid 2000s. I'm pretty sure that, at least for me, this is because I have grown up mostly with shows that came from those eras, so there's this sort of "feeling at home" sensation which massively ups the quality of whatever I'm watching.
I just really dislike most things modern; digital animation, current artstyles, you name it. Not because it's necessarily bad in general, but because I'm so drawn to what I have seen and experienced in my childhood, the things that essentially shaped and ultimately make up what is now my taste.

I don't want to unnecessarily expand on my personal philosophics, but I believe this to be completely natural and unrelated to depression or frustration, at least regarding the origins of said feelings. I mean this as a word of comfort, of course.
Good to hear you were able to find something you like.
