What boards do you want in the menus?
I picked a bunch when I first made the site just to have something to work with while setting everything up.

If you want to suggest merging boards together keep in mind that manually combining boards is also an option, >>/a+ma/ for example.

i'm pretty satisfied with the current boards but i dont think sf is popular enough here to warrant having a dedicated official board. i think /lit/ would be nice even though i dont read much.

get rid of /nu/, maybe? it seems redundant

/d/ is strange. I don't understand why hentai and dousjinshi are a board, unless you are one of those who use "doujinshi" to refer to porn manga, in which case, please stop.

maybe change /d/ to 2dporn/二次元エロ and merge /nu/ with /jp/? we're so used to treating /jp/ like nijiura that even when we have one we still just use /jp/. change the otaku culture title to 二次元裏.

Actually I made it just doujinshi only at the start, but then I figured again that's something that mostly would just get posted on /jp/ and /d/ would probably only get porn anyway, so then I just added hentai because 4cahn's /d/ is.
Maybe I'll just change it to /h/ and drop doujin from the title.

I also like these ideas.

Actually I think this would be best >>6
since 二次元エロ would cover pretty much anything including individual artworks, and having the title in japanese is a good way to imply that it's not intended for western 2D art.

What about combining hardware and software? Or maybe just make it a tech board in genera but keep programming separate?

I came here from the 8/jp/ link, I had a few questions about this site and thought it'd belong on the meta board.

When was this site made and what's it's purpose? Is it just another alt chan for /jp/ refugees? Anything interesting happen since it's creation?

Either way I like the in between 2ch and futaba format it has.

I put it on a hosting service maybe around September and posted it on /jp/ as just being under development so maybe only 2 or 3 people checked it out. I'd say it wasn't really ready until January when I switched it over to the current hosting service. But I spent about a year before that working on it.

Its purpose was just to be a playground for me to personally test features. Basically I was thinking about how anonymity impacts discussion and wondered if there's other subtle features that could have big impact on the way people behave on imageboards. In particular I was wondering if it would be possible to get rid of mods with a certain set of carefully designed features.
I might just not be smart enough though, but it seems to not be possible, and most of the ideas I've had always seemed to have flaws. So only a few of those ideas are still left in the site now, like OP having the ability to hide things and having a board watcher. Those two things combined might work out fairly well, although it does sometimes seem kind of silly to allow the OP to have control on such a small site, but I never really meant to launch an imageboard in the first place. The whole point was to try and figure out things that could work on bigger sites.

I decided to make it available online because I actually ended up having something that I thought was pretty nice.
I didn't really want it to be just a /jp/ spinoff though and would like more people to come, but there's no rush and I'd rather it build some nice foundations before a lot of the common cancer from popular imageboards finds its way here.
Also it's completely new software so there's probably a lot of bugs and things that still need improving, and a sudden explosion of traffic would probably be bad.

Do you plan on keeping this site up as it's own thing?

It's pretty comfy here so I'll probably stick around, but I wouldn't want it to suddenly disappear one day like Fufufu.

Yeah, I definitely plan on keeping it around. Although I didn't reach my idealistic goal I'm happy with the way it all came together. The hosting is pretty cheap too, so I'll probably just keep it up even if people stop coming here.

That's good to hear.

Probably a stupid question, but do you post on here too? I've been trying to contribute but there doesn't seem to be many users at all.

I do of course, but I try not to respond to everything otherwise I'd be the most dominant voice on the site, and I don't think I'm that interesting.

how much user info do you have access to?
can you see the IP or location of each poster?
what about lurkers?
»

>>16
The only thing saved right now is the IP of posts which is needed to make the "Del" button and bans work.
Also, I technically "have access" to country information too, since I think cloudflare sends it in a header, but it's not being used or saved anywhere.
Other than that cloudflare builds statistics about country percentage, unique visitors, and type of requests. But we have like 13,000 unique visitors according to them so that's probably not useful information since it's all bots, and the most dominant request is "empty" which makes up 57.7% of the traffic.

I'll probably add a unique poster count at some point.

18 Anonymous 1969-12-31T17:00:00
>>17
Actually that 13,000 is probably page requests. 167 is the number of unique visitors in the last 24 hours, but that's still probably mostly bots.

Make a /poe/ board for poetry, specifically creepy stuff like Edgar Allan Poe.
