Is it just me or is this site getting a lower amount of posts everyday? I always check here after work and today there's only been about three or four posts. I know this is one of the niche IBs hipster kids click on when they browse creamy's list and then forget about forever but still, imageboards are most active during the summer. If this is the amount of people that use this site in July I fear how many posts there will be in a few months

From my estimate, since coming and sticking around these parts, it's actually been a bit more lively recently than it has been. I remember times when a week would pass with a post or two, with sometimes one of them being by myself. Perhaps my perception is off, though.

Doing what? Pretending you have something to actually connect to?

4taba's post rate varies way more than most IBs do. The bulk of the site's posts come from a small handful of dedicated posters, so when one of them takes a break from posting the site grinds to a halt.

I could post a lot but you'd probably get mad at me for creating a bunch of boards

It's fine. Because of the site's extensive overboard features, boards work less like subforums and more like tags

The less posts the better.

There is a consistent (inverse) relationship between posting speed and board quality.

Opinions from someone with a blue name should be discarded and taken as a joke.

Don't start that "sage is a downvote" crap here.
tabatan had to invent this whole new feature I'm using right now just to stop you faggots from regurgitating that narrative.

Threads don't even get deleted here when they reach a post limit, they live 24hrs beyond that, so the concept of sage "taking up post slots" has no meaning here.

I still laugh at how 4taba doesn't understand what sage means.

If only I knew moon so I wouldn't have to spend time on a board that imports foreign concepts and then DOES IT WRONG all the time.

Using sage as a way to "insult" someone's post or thread is just completely wrong and a retarded misuse of a good feature that is so popular in sites like 2ch and Futaba. Fuck, iichan and 4-ch do it right. It's just 4taba and 4taba's lame knockoffs that fail at using sage.

The true meaning of sage means that YOUR POST isn't worthy enough to bump the thread. It's ironic, because you think that you're insulting others while you're just, in fact, insulting yourself. Yes, sage can be used when posting a derogatory comment in a thread that you don't want to bump, but posting with just the word "sage" accomplishes nothing but contribute to spamming the board. The trend of replying with the name of a tripfag and sage is even worse, as it accomplishes nothing and only serves to increase the e-penis of whoever you're "attacking".

The sage feature was never meant to serve as an implied insult or general disagreement! Why people started using it that way is beyond me. There are plenty of reasons why one would choose not to bump a thread with his reply. For example, bumping threads with stupid one liner replies should be discouraged and those people should be coerced into using sage instead.

I want to use sage, yet I almost never do it on 4taba because people will jump on me thinking I'm insulting their post or something.

>Why people started using it that way is beyond me

Western imageboards didn't explain the concept of how it's used in the East. Thus a separate culture formed around the use of it.
In Japanese schools bullying has taken the form of simply ignoring a person so maybe not responding on imageboards there is enough of a signal of disapproval as it is. In the West anyone with anonimity is considerably more vocal so there's no cultural reason to hold back contempt. But doing so technically bumps a thread so a sage counteracts that. It's a useful device to insult others and not have them get more positive attention.
>I want to use sage, yet I almost never do it on 4taba because people will jump on me thinking I'm insulting their post or something.

That's all in your head.

People are recently complaining about a "lack of quality" on the site, yet they dont even bother to bump old good threads and instead reply to the new threads they hate
