I should try to learn Japanese. What made you want to learn Japanese?
Nothing in particular, I just wanted to read miscellaneous things such as posts and the like. It's pretty convenient since japanese can't be machine translated.
I've been studying games devs for 5 years and japan has a good game industry
Lack of eroge translations
Vidya and chinese cartoons.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oZEA54VJEdECheck namasensei out if youre trying to learn japanese! His teaching seems crude, but it helps you learn. I didnt even care for japanese, and I know some really basic rules because hes fun to watch.
>>6No, don't! His videos are satire and it won't teach you japanese!
>>7I don't bel;eive you
I just want to play and import their vidya. Accessing their net would be nice, too. I've only being going for four months, but I'm making progress. Just drill Namasensei's kana lessons, then grab Anki and Tae Kim's grammar book. Jot down anything worth revising you read into Anki, and revise revise revise.
>>9>Just drill Namasensei's kana lessons1 day with realkana is all you need to learn to read most of your kana forever, 2 if you work.
>>6I love Jeremy but he can't teach that wellJust go2 realkana or whatever and grind there.after that, grind vocab, kanji and grammar with Tae Kim's guide. This should suffice for the beginning. You might want to consider installing Rikaichan on your browser but don't overuse it. The best function in my opinion is that you can save words into a .txt file which you can turn into real vocab cards to use in Anki which is a good program to grind
My desire to learn Japanese came from my desire to learn the CJKV languages, as han culture is interesting. I think, however, I will not have time for han culture in my life. I'll have to stick with European culture for now.
>>6Namasensei's video on -te form (ーて刑) was helpful. Mostly because he spends 10 minutes repeating the ーて conjugation so you don't forget it because it's a really fundamental conjugation. He's a humorous teacher and was the reason I first started studying.
