Are you playing any games? I just started on a game called Hegemony Gold: Wars of Ancient Greece.
It's pretty nice.

A collection of the first half dozen or so Metal Gear games arrives today. I only played about ten minutes of one of them at my friend's house because my parents wouldn't let me get M games.

Warmly waiting for fire emblem musou
It's been amusing seeing people on 4chan v complain about Lyn's bottoms. I'm sure they were merely pretending

Me too, except that I've been playing it for a while. I really like how freeform it is.

Right now, I'm on a Sims 3 binge. I don't know. It's not an amazing game, but, every once in a while, I just can't stop playing. I've spent a good four hours a day for the past four days playing this game. There's just so much to do, in so many ways. I mean, there's the actual goals you can set, and everything you need to do to reach those goals, as well as all the little things to need to do along the way. You need to eat, you need to make food, you need to pee, you need to clean the counter, the stove, the toilet, the shower, you need to shower, you need to pee, you need to get your fun up, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.
It really is just Micromanaging: The Game, but I love it.
And I always play every game the same.

I've been playing Trove, an exceptionally grindy MMO that I really hate. But I just keep going back.

I hope you've finished 2 by now, Nagito is the best part of DR.

could you possibly expand on that? I've been thinking of getting into MB, but I'd like to have some idea of what sets it apart from other fightan.

Playing Dustforce, Ys Origin, and Rivals of Aether.
- I'm working on beating Hideout on Dustforce, which is a really devious stage, easily much more difficult than the Concrete Temple.
- I reached the boss of the Blighted Blood on Ys Origin, and have mostly got it down except for the final phase, where it spews out a bunch of smaller enemies to heal itself. I have to figure out how to kill all the small fry fast enough before it can heal.
- Just started Rivals of Aether, and I have not gotten a single win online yet. Pretty much what I was expecting, because fighting games and all. I'm not used to the pace yet, and I keep picking a slow character.

I've been playing Harvest Moon DS for the past week. I'm in year 2 which is probably the farthest I ever got in this game, and I managed to rescue 60 sprites and get married. Only thing left to do is get a kid I guess. I don't know if I'll make it that far, I'm starting to get bored.

Just completed Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World (PS3 ver) for the first time last night.
The main monster catching gimmick was okay if sort of grindy (it's at least nice that the monsters level up at a faster rate than the 2 main characters). I did not like the actual catching method, though.
It sucked that you only have 2 main characters who level up, while you get guest characters in your party from the first game, who don't. Pretty much made me not use them in battle at all since they start falling behind at some points, though the game does jump them up a few levels after certain points in the story, I still didn't bother, since they're still pretty behind compared to me. They really should have just let you level them up.
Battle system was pretty much an upgrade from the first, and what you'd expect in a 3D Tales game. The story miffed me at first but I warmed up to it a little in the end.
An okay game, not really awful, bad, good or great. Really middling.

yeah I stopped shortly after I made that post. It really is a shame how most of the games get boring after the 1st year or so. The festivals are the exact same every year and it just becomes a waiting game for something interesting to happen, either through a random event or your child being born.
I get there's space limitations or whatever but I feel they could have put a bit more dialogue in the games to flesh the characters out more. It starts to get annoying when the characters repeat the same thing every single day. I know it's a bit of a nitpick and farming mechanics are the main appeal, but I think characters are important for these kind of games.

On another note, I beat Mario 3 for the first time a couple days ago. Pretty great game overall, but Bowser's Castle was way easier in comparison to the rest of World 8.

Im playing a STALKER mod based on MISERY, Dead Air. Its mostly very good. All the 'hardcore' gameplay changes are great, the camping survivalist stuff, increased hazard from radiation, deadlier anomalies, cooking food, maintenace, etc. It all feels very harsh and like surviving in the zone should. But, the fucking mutant spawns are out of control and it ruins it. The levels in STALKER are just too small for the amount of mutants this mod spawns for how hard it is. Too small for the distances at which they can recognize and come after you, which make sense on their own, if the maps were as big as real world areas of any sort, but instead their range of aggression is like a fifth or a fourth of the entire level. And huge gangs of them spawn. On early areas, enormous packs of blind dogs. And on later levels, SO MANY FUCKING BLOODSUCKERS. ENTIRE FAMILY UNITS OF 5 BLOODSUCKERS, BIG PARENTS AND LITTLE CHILDREN BLOODSUCKERS, RUNNING AROUND IN OPEN FIELDS. And even if I install a mod to axe the big squads in most of the areas, its still just miserable to encounter 1-3 bloodsuckers on EVERY level past the bar, without fail, usually just roaming around the map following the fucking tushkano to me. The other 'high-level' mutants aren't like this. They dont spawn at least one burer and controller on every map, theyre mostly hand placed in areas where they work well. Thats how bloodsuckers should be, at least for as dangerous as they are in this mod. They shouldnt be spawning in gangs of 4 in open plains, using tushkano as hunting hounds.

pathfinder kingmaker mostly. it's a mixed bag. i like the atmosphere and the characters a lot, but the combat is more annoying than anything. i'd prefer if they'd gone with turn based combat, managing six characters in real time is a pain in the ass and the ai is usually what i end up letting do the work. there's a lot of depth to the combat that isn't feasible to work with thanks to it being real time. also, very very slow movement and combat much of the time. there are a lot of instances of one on one combat where characters spend a minute or two missing each other. it's extremely boring. just skip until one of them hits, damn.

the kingdom building is pretty neat though, and i'll probably end up sticking with it until the end.

For some reason, western indies with female protagonists tend to have mechanics that fits my exact taste in games. Pic related is just one example, there's also Bot Vice, Assault Android Cactus, Knytt Stories, and most recently, CrossCode.

Finishing my at least fifth overall playthrough of campaigns in Disciples II. This time not only using unmodded game but also with add-on campaigns because I needed an excuse to get firsthand experience with the latter. So why not maximize the misery while I'm at it.

>managing six characters in real time is a pain in the ass

Nightmare fuel. Is there no pause key? Or do you mean that constantly pausing and unpausing is too much of a hassle?
Dragon Are: Origins had a mod that greatly improved existing character scripting mechanism that could be used to greatly reduce the repetitiveness during simpler, more "standard" combat encounters. Maybe there's something similar for Kingmaker?

How in the hell. I re-read that post four times. Time to start increasing font size, I guess...
