What is your favorite game?
https://youtu.be/e-HhTvQlhjQWhy is Sonic in an SNES-pixel style and playing a Nintendo Switch?
>>76I don't think there is a why beyond the artist thought it would look cool/interesting.
Bumping this thread in hopes of more people posting cute Amy art. Amy Rose was always my favorite Sonic girl. I could never be attracted to her sexually, both in childhood and adulthood because she shares my mother's name and it's weird. But I just love her design and like seeing art of her in different outfits/costumes
Funny that this thread got bumped today, I was just toying around with Open Surge's level editor, and was enjoying it. I don't have much yet though.>>79I can oblige, but I didn't want to flood the board since it's pretty slow.
>>79I'm guessing you like Modern flavor more, correct?
>>81I like her rascal design and her modern design. But there's probably more modern art of her
>>82Amy's a pretty popular character all things considered. She has plenty of artwork in all of her incarnations.
I found this while looking around. Not a Twitter, but it does have their work:https://imglore.com/mangaanonymous
I looked up their tag but all I could find was pinterest posts
>>89This one is really cool.
>>92When you have as much fanart as this character, you're sure to have some big winners here and there.
I still don't know why people like that cheesy Sonic movie that came out 2 months ago. I've seen nu sonic fans say "please SEGA, the movie was good so Sonic is relevant again dont fuck up the next sonic game!!". Fuck off lol. Sonic Mania fans are a horrible cancer on the fanbase, even more so than the recolor people that everyone always shits on even though they havent existed since the late 2000s. Now this wouldn't bug me as much if it wasn't for the fact that these days, fans on the internet dictate everything media does (which is why everything is so devoid of originality these days). If anything I hope they do something as different as possible from any sonic game made before, but you know they'll either make a mania clone or another sonic and other video game properties go the olympic games thing.
But social media people attacking random game designers for trying out any game mechanic with sonic other than sidescroller hill loopdeloops isn't rude?
>94>Sonic Mania fans are a horrible cancer on the fanbase, even more so than the recolor people that everyone always shits on even though they havent existed since the late 2000s.I'm seeing this sentiment more and more, and it's utterly bizarre and makes no sense. Sonic Mania is one game, and there's no indication that there's going to be a follow up. People who like Sonic Mania had no hand in Sonic Forces being poor, as they both came out around the same time. They had no hand in Team Sonic Racing being poorly recieved either, so how can they be doing anything to the franchise? Because they enjoy a good video game? Would you be happier if Mania was as bad as the "Legends" that were Boom and '06?Sonic is devoid of originality for the same reason people mock it: Sega keeps making bad to mediocre games. If they could make a consistently good run of games, there would be no problem. You're blaming the wrong group, Player.
>>95I said Mania *fans*, not people that mildly enjoyed Sonic Mania. I'm specifically talking about the group of people that are worried "sonic's gonna be cringe again". Are you really defending that insecure group of people? Also mania's too easy/10. I know sonic is "muh kids game" but c'mon, SEGA used to make games specifically aimed towards teens and adults in the 90s. Sonic Mania's specifically a nostalgia wankfest for 20 something's that love the 90s design, so why is the game so un-90s? Fuck Tyson Hesse's opening too; poor replication of the Toei opening design.
>>96I don't hang around big social media sites, unless you count 4chan, so there's a lot of fanbase squabbling that I have not come in contact with. As far as I'm concerned, Mania is simply a good video game, and I don't associate it with a group I find annoying. I have seen adventure fans ranting about what you speak of, but they seem to be just angry at a poor target to me.As for the game specifically: I find it to be of the same difficulty as the other major 2D entries, that is very easy. Difficulty was never Sonic's thing, it was always free and fluid movement mechanics, which Mania excels at. If this were a Megaman game we were talking about, I would understand the criticism, but Sonic games were always incredibly forgiving.
Sorry for the sudden shift from cute to lewd, but does anyone have any info on this doujin? I vaguely remember saving it from Sonic CulT so many years ago
>>99 Haven't got anything but this circle that calls themselves "GEBOKUDOU". https://www.doujinshi.org/browse/circle/798/DIGITAL-ACCEL-WORKS/
Why is this man's coloring so beautiful to me?
ow too much red
Are people seriously drawing regular fan art of the western movie design for Sonic? Gross
https://twitter.com/Danny8bit/status/1275486586151428096It's funny, for the longest time I've thought of different possibilities for a new Sonic cartoon/anime. The majority of the Sonic fanbase think a Sonic cartoon should either be cartoony or have some sort of overarching lore-driven serialized story (which will never have any stakes because SEGA is very strict about Sonic never losing any fights). Looking back on every animated Sonic series, Sonic X was probably the weirdest/most experimental (https://youtu.be/CGU9g23OIsQ this scene is just so unfitting for a Sonic cartoon but it fits perfectly with the weird world of sonic games and licensed products). The canon of Sonic is all over the place, even 29 years after its inception. I still don't know what I necessarily want for a new sonic cartoon, or if there even really needs to be another one, but experimental and or trippy sonic cartoons sounds like more fun than boring misadventures with same face waifu self insert OCs like pic related
>>107I'm honestly surprised they haven't made a "cannon" Sonic cartoon yet. There's more than enough characters, locations, and potential plot devices in the games at this point that you could easily make a Sonic cartoon set within that universe.
>>105the designs arent awful its just the rest of the movie thats shit, but yea its gross that people are just embracing that garbage film and now you have all these underage posers thinking themselves sonic fans cause they saw the shitty movie and liked it
>>105>>109I'm glad that people liked the movie, simply because it shows people still care about sonic. I fear for the day sonic fades out of relevance.
>>110>I fear for the day sonic fades out of relevanceWhy? All the creatives at SEGA have retired, and they will never take another chance with Sonic again. People already bark at them whenever they try to introduce a new element or gimmick to a Sonic game. A lot of people love Sonic Mania because it's basically an HD polished version of the original sidescrollers. They said it was a good step for Sonic, but if anything I feel like it just kicked what little pride SEGA as a video game publisher had left, in the balls. The fact that they needed help from amateur indie game makers to sell a game is just baffling.
It's funny. The Metal Sonic race in Stardust Speedway is probably the most iconic part of sonic CD, but it's always been my least favorite boss in the game. The area where you race eachother is really weirdly designed, both visually and as a level, and it sucks a lot of the spectacle out of the fight

Sonic Megamix Mania Demo is outhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-yZXSfnpeQhttps://www.sonichacking.org/entries/contest2020/274It's looking really good, I'm going to have to try it after my Mania playthrough.
Wow, my thread is still alive.>>65It showed that people prefer competently made games. Mania has a solid leveldesign and physics.>>107Sonic canon (at least japanise version) was solid until death of dreamcast. Herose was simplified for nostalgiafags who last time saw sonic when their friend played sonic 2. Shadow was a mess and '06 was an atempt at soft reboot in addition to being abortion. Games since were reaction to '06 and eraced more and more continuity, ending with two wordls.>>108SEGA probably doesn't want to be burdened by continuity.
>>118>It showed that people prefer competently made games. Mania has a solid leveldesign and physics.I think it was more so the fact that most sonic fans believe SEGA hired a single sonic fan game dev to make the entire game from scratch, so they praise it for being an "officially licensed fan game".
Why do I never see fan art of Rouge drinking blood? I mean she is a bat, right?
>>120Because SEGA stopped taking chances after the nineties. But hey, someone on deviantART drew your fantasy!
>>121Thanks, I hate it.

Coming back to them after a long time, I forgot how much I liked the GBA/DS era games.Their sprite work is really superb and they're so full of character in them, I'm gonna flat out say they're some of the best among Sonic games. They just seem to have so much love poured into them. I always loved the world design/aesthetics too, like Music Plant Zone or Chaos Angel Zone. And Rush has always been one of my favorite soundtracks, the GBA soundchip never did many of the games on it any justice, not even just Sonic. Not to say that any of the GBA games music was bad, just that being on the GBA really holds them back.Despite that I was raving about the sprites, Rush is actually my favorite game, though. It's just so quick and satisfying to play.
