I tried the username "mod" and password "4ROOBA" supplied for team.4chan.org in 2004 in a feeble hope that it would still work. It did not though.

I used to when I was fourteen. I'd also lay a paper towel on the floor and push out big potato log shits, wrap it up, carry it for a while, then flush it. It was a very delicate and time consuming bathroom process.

Any other kitchen people posting here? I just started a new position as a dishwasher/cook trainee at a place that just opened up a few months ago, and I had a really great night tonight, swinging between the dishes and picking up on more of the cooking. You know the feeling you get at the end of the night when you have a super busy night where you all have to work your asses off and coordinate as a team, and you actually pulled it off? That's what I'm feeling right now.

Have any threads, outside of those which have been deleted, actually died yet?
»
2 Anonymous 2019-08-06T00:06:02
Nope. Deletion time after a thread falls off the last page is set to 6 months.
Also I have the deletion code disabled still. The problem was never that it wasn't working, it's that whenever it auto-prunes a thread it throws up "internal server error"'s to the person loading the page.
It's not a huge deal, since it correctly deletes the thread and the user can just refresh the page, but we don't really need threads to be pruned right now so I'm not in a hurry. We're still barely at about 50% disk space usage.

But I think the errors are cause by poor database design anyway. Something about removing a table causes the server to freak out a bit.
When I started making this site it was supposed to be a testbed, so I kind of just started doing whatever worked instead of researching best practices.
I wasn't aware of how bad an idea it was to make dynamic tables, where tables are created/deleted as threads are created/deleted. Turns out it causes a lot of issues.
The best practice is to have fixed tables. I've had some people recommend that to me here too, but the fact that we have dynamic tables makes it extremely difficult to change the database structure right now (another reason to use fixed tables instead).

I haven't mentioned this yet, but I've actually been rewriting the server again. This time with a focus on handling the database correctly, and in a way that will make changing the database easy as pie.
At that point deletions should just be a matter of removing rows from tables, instead of removing entire tables.
A number of other things should also be streamlined in the new code too.

What are some of your most embarrassing stories /ho/? When I was sixteen I was living with my dad and his girlfriend+her two kids. I hoarded tons of piss bottles since I'd use them after I masturbated to piss out the semen that was stuck on my foreskin. I kept them in my closet until everyone would leave to get groceries/clothes/other bullshit, then I'd dump them. One day, one of her little girls rudely went in my room to look for toys in my closet, and long story short, knocked a snapple bottle full of fermented murky piss on her head. She of course burst into tears, and her mom walked in on me standing next to her while pee dripped from her forehead

Not really too embarrassing but I used to have major insomnia problems and around 2 in the morning my dad would always go to my brothers bedroom and bang a whore. My face got super red and my heart beat really fast. I was still a virgin at sixteen so I was kind of jealous of my dad who was almost in his mid fourties still getting pussy from people half his age

I watched the first three episodes on toonami, then years pass and I am completely obsessed with anime. Long story short, I find the series again and lets just say I couldn't handle it. Most of the new fans from netflix are mostly young adults that have already been aware of the show's existence for years so I doubt it's had the same impact on them; but to find a show I watched on Toonami and it being the most mind fucking anime without really even being too gory, was huge.

What is the reason?
Sad days but okay, the internet is no longer suitable as a free platform. It would be nice if we had a medium that wasn't so heavily influenced by large corporations and government.

>Unfortunately, recent legislative changes in the Netherlands, confirmed by our host, has made it impossible to keep the status quo going. While it may have been possible to move the necessary servers to some other country with more lenient laws, at this point in time it's probably a game of whack-a-mole, so even if I wanted to attempt it, the aforementioned tendon injury makes it impossible for me to play that game.

Oh I thought it was sort-of mandatory for kids to learn that. At least where I'm from the only kids that can't ride are disabled. School trips in primary school are often done on bicycle too.

Depends on where you live, and not just what country you live in, but what area you live in in that country. I'm American, and where I grew up we had a bicycle safty camp that everyone sent their kids to so they could learn to ride their bikes properly. I moved to a different part of the country when I grew up and where I live now there's nothing of the sort

I'm currently reading Catch-22, and it is quickly becoming my favorite book out of the low number of them I've read. I've read some Goodreads reviews of how some don't like the non-chronological style, but I find it makes it more interesting to read and it somehow just flows better in my opinion. It also reminds me of my own shitty ability to tell stories or explain things.

I've always preferred non-linear storytelling. Anything overly linear starts feeling weirdly tiring as the story moves along, if that makes any sense

As a matter of fact, I've always been drawn to avant-garde shit way more than traditional storytelling, even as a kid. I don't know why, I just find weird shit to be way more fun

So far, bit of a generic answer, but Yossarian. Nearly everything he says and does is incredibly entertaining and endearing. Other than him, it would probably be Major Major out of empathy and due to his loner actions.
