Are they actually trying to start their own CDN? If so, good fucking luck. They can barely run a website.

I don't know exactly what part of cloudflare they were supposedly trying to replicate, it's just one of the many rumors I've read recently.

All this QAnon stuff is really intruiging. From searching a bit, its a world order conspiracy about pedophile satanists running the world with Donald Trump being the one to fight against it? Very strange.

I don’t think Apple’s really that popular in the computer space, Windows would’ve been a better example. (Which has been falling towards the CLI with 10 and PowerShell).

I'll probably add some soon.
We're very close (could even be in the next few days) to updating the site to the totally new engine I've been working on, and it actually has a fully working admin panel (and finally has proper thread pruning now too lol)

It's also a good opportunity to rethink how moderation is going to work here. So far I don't think anything has been deleted but some old stuff, cp, and bot spam.
I'm also a fan of moderation being less "by the book". Take this thread for example, it's not confrontational, it's only 1 occurrence, and everyone is saging the thread so far (perhaps even the OP has saged himself too?)
That's the sort of thing I think can just be let in under the radar. It's also one of the reasons why I love sage.
Collective polite saging means we don't necessarily have to delete everything.

But this should be continued in the sticky thread, in case there's more questions.

Another site with more than a decade's worth of content being shut down forever. So I guess just use this thread to post archived art and maybe updates from sites like Archive Team if they give a shit enough to notice.

What are some good technical or nonfiction books you've read? I recently read Unix Power Tools, and it was quite enjoyable: most of the authors used a nice, lighthearted tone.
I'm planning to read SICP sometime this year.

I read Paul Graham's On Lisp. It gave me a better understanding of macros, and examples of how to pile abstraction layers on top of each other to build amazing stuff. It also dispelled my doubts and showed me that Common Lisp really isn't for me - I'm more of a Scheme person.

More recently, I read O'Reilly's Network Warrior. Being familiar only with home/SOHO networking equipment, I feared it'd be out of my league, but instead I found a very accessible book, that explains all the required background without patronizing the reader or dumbing things down, crammed with useful info both theoretical and practical. If you're interested, try to get the second edition, as the first has a fair number of errata.

And now I really should be getting back to SICP sometime soon.
