Why are they so cute?
2 Anonymous 2020-09-11T22:35:18
Because they look slightly off. Imperfection is cuter than perfection. It feels more organic and real.

Having a common API sounds fun. The pessimist in me says that there is no way all imageboards could ever follow it though. Perhaps a content scraping server could be created that reformats the content of multiple imageboards into a unified format. It wouldn't be able to post, though.

48 guest@cc 2021-03-30T17:54:04
I don't get the point of a federated textboard (or imageboard). It's not really a format that benefits from it. They don't have accounts, so migration between them isn't really an issue, and unlike microblogs (twitter, tumblr, mastodon, plemora), where sharing someone else's content is a major factor, seperate boards and threads are relatively exclusive.
49 guest@cc 2021-10-10T09:29:21
Something like this I suppose?

Tabamin did a database dump before he left. Does anyone have it?
9 Anonymous 2021-09-28T21:16:34
Didn't he just give one in private? I thought I had the original before I merged it with some threads on the temporary site, but my search isn't finding it.
In any case, the last backup I have is 2020-01-17T01:14:12 which contains roughly a month of threads found on the temp site.
10 Anonymous 2021-09-28T21:30:04
ah, my search turned up results and the merge combined 2020-01-17 with 2020-01-10, so just a week.

In any case I do have what I believe to be the original data.
11 Anonymous 2021-10-01T13:48:16
I believe he did it before the tempsite went up and before the merger. I looked through my files but I couldn't find it. I remember it having threads going back to 2016.
12 Anonymous 2021-10-01T14:57:25
of what he gave me, a lot of files had a unix timestamp of 0

Still making those trick images or is this an old one? I remember seeing those. On this TV I'm using as a monitor it also changes color when I drag the window. I guess it's a side effect of some algorithm filter thing it's doing?

Twitter's best for finding and keeping tabs on Japanese Artists.
Keeping tabs on certain tech stuff is easy too. But you really have to avoid anything even vaguely political, or your feed will be crammed full of unpleasantness.

>But you really have to avoid anything even vaguely political, or your feed will be crammed full of unpleasantness.

I think that's an issue with the way Westerners use social media in general. We like to think of them as "platforms" (they're not), so we use them to spew stupid bullshit all day.

hello /cc/
Need some help on shell scripting. Could you help me how to make this code better?

duhhh=$(xclip -out)
xdotool mousemove 847 223 click 1 | sleep 0.1
xdotool mousemove 30 733 click 1 | sleep 0.1 | xdotool mousemove 30 733 click 1
xclip -t -selection "primary" -quiet -silent > /dev/null 2>&1

echo $duhhh

The thing about this script is, it doesn't work for the first run. Instead of echoing the real value, I got 1. But after do the second run, the value is correct as intended. "xclip" is a program equivalent to Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V where you can save selected line into clipboard for X11. If it tries to copy new value than before, same symptom happened. It always when running on the second time that works.
2 guest@cc 2021-07-04T01:11:18
>Instead of echoing the real value, I got 1
I'm guessing that duhhh is originally set to not an integer, try this in your shell

$ foo=aaaaaaaaaaaa
$ ((foo++))
$ echo ${foo}

Your code and use case is too specific for me actually test and fix your script.

1 guest@cc 2020-10-30T17:02:24
I've almost prepared the first release version of a decentralized textboard. It allows threads and replies to be shared between multiple servers, and threads are assigned to tags, rather than boards.

What kinds of features should my board have besides just these? It's still very minimalist -- a blank slate for progress!
